Abilmente Milano: creative Fiber Art reinterprets Dante

Italiano (Italian)

Artistic creativity knows no bounds with Abilmente: fabric, ribbon, paper, beads and colors are combined in innovative projects and ingenious ideas together with the crafters and Do It Yourself experts most followed by the Italian creative communities. This is the special recipe of Abilmente Milano, the Italian Exhibition Group‘s Salone delle Idee Creative which brings together enthusiasts for the first time at Superstudio Maxi, from 4th to 7th November 2021.

The format most loved by creatives debuts in Milan with many inspirations from the different worlds of craftsmanship thanks to the special areas Cucito su di te for tailoring fashion, La Via delle Idee for new creative ideas and Paper ‘n’ joy for paper tricks.

DAMSS, Sculture indossabili

There are also many new ideas, exhibitions and installations that will accompany the visit to the event for enthusiasts, including ‘Inferno 3000’, the textile art panel dedicated to Dante Alighieri in the seven hundredth anniversary of the death of the great poet, born from the work of Daniela Arnoldi’s and Marco Sarzi-Sartori’s skilled hands, aka DAMSS. She is an engineer, and he is an architect, combining a passion for design with that for fabrics, giving life to original works of Fiber Art that they take around the world between the United States and China. 12 meters wide and 4 meters high, the panel exhibited at Abilmente Milano depicts Dante’s hell in a dystopian future of the year 3000 to solicit reflections on the mismanagement of our Earth and will be the setting for a parade of wearable textile sculptures. From the collection of production waste materials to the realization of screen printing, from the creation of a full-size prototype, through the definition of every single element of the embroidery and the techniques to be used, all the phases contribute to the surprising final effect: every detail visual is important, both from near and far.
