On Saturday, July 2 at 6:30 p.m., the double solo exhibition by Eron and Lucia Bubilda Nanni entitled “Nebulae of Time,” curated by Alessandra Carini, will be inaugurated at the Santa Croce Gallery. Promoted by the Cultural Services of the City of Cattolica, the exhibition features a series of works that are part of the two artists’ latest research, in an exhibition itinerary hosted inside the Santa Croce Gallery and the archaeology section of the Museo della Regina, until Sept. 25, 2022.

Memory and the evocation of remembrance is the theme of Lucia Nanni’s work, who, with a sewing machine, weaves on tulle and canape what remains of an old faded photograph, of a foggy thought that in time will be destined to disappear. “As an inexperienced student,” the artist writes, “attending my first theoretical classes, I already wanted to write a treatise on shadows: perhaps I did in this long exercise, practicing my technique for years, in my cave: hours vaporizing into nebulae of time, saving images and finding names, meaning. “

The works, set up in both the Municipal Gallery and the adjacent Regina Museum, intend to dialogue with the permanent collection, investing the space with new perspectives and making the ancient and the contemporary coexist.

During the summer period, three guided tours with exhibition curator Alessandra Carini will be scheduled. On Wednesday, July 6 and 20, and Wednesday, Aug. 3 and 17, free guided tours will be offered to the public at 9 p.m. by the museum staff. The catalog will be presented in July.
