Fantastic Fibers 2019

Italiano (Italian)

April 20  – June 8, 2019  Paducah, KY  – USA

Fantastic Fibers is an international juried exhibition that seeks to showcase a wide range of outstanding works related to the fiber medium.

In the most famous place of quilting in the United States, but not only, the city of Paducah in Kentucky, where  is based the American Quilters Society, beyond to the National Museum of Quilt and the events connected to them, we can find a permanent expostive space: the Yeiser Art Center.

The YAC, as a non-profit association, was founded in 1957 as the Artistic Guild of Paducah. It currently houses a permanent collection of around 300 works and 7 exhibit exhibitions a year.

Among these, the Fantastic Fibers, sanctioned by AQS, is one of the most captivating and colorful international exhibitions of the Yeiser Art Center. A “must” of inspiration for refined artists, quilter and textile art lovers from all over the world. Founded in 1987 as an exhibition of wearable art, it has evolved over the years to include an engaging mix of traditional and non-traditional works created from natural or synthetic fibers and works that address the subject or medium of fiber.

The competition exhibition is open to all artists aged 18 and over who work in the field of Fiber Art.

All contemporary and innovative works created with fiber as a primary medium can participate.

All the works presented must be original, completed in the last three years and not previously exhibited in a Fantastic Fibers exhibition. There are no restrictions on dimensions.

Parola d’ordine: Divulgazione!
