The cycle of conferences «ARS ET INDUSTRIA», organized by the Chieri Textile Museum, continues. The meeting dedicated to Gina Morandini (1931-2021), a woman who thanks to her actions and her charisma has marked the history of textile art, will take place online only on Saturday June 12, at 3.00 pm.

The three speakers, Annamaria Poggioli (president of “Le Arti Tessili APS”), Barbara Girardi (coordinator of the “Valcellina Award” International Competition of Textile Art / Contemporary Fiber Art) and Carmen Romeo (researcher and essayist), will present the exhibition project anthology and monograph entitled “Gina Morandini: teacher, project manager, historian of the art of fashion and costume and fiber artist”.

Gina Morandini from an early age worked in the field of weaving and textile. She has been a teacher since 1959, when she founded the Textile, Carpet and Tapestry Art Section at the Udine School of Art. Internationally recognized scholar for her research, she was an active Fiber Artist, creator of the international Valcellina Award competition dedicated to young textile artists.

Her human dimension has led her to take an interest in social problems, especially related to the world of women, and to commit herself personally to the dissemination of  an education aimed at overcoming them.
