The International Fiber Arts X competition is July 31-Sept 12, 2021 at Sebastopol Center for the Arts and co-sponsored by Surface Design Association.

Enter fiber artwork by the deadline June 7. 

International Fiber Arts X is a biennial, international juried exhibition presenting a distinct approach to innovative and traditional fiber techniques, and a contemporary concept for the use of traditional and unusual materials. Accepting two or three-dimensional pieces including wearable and installation art.

The viewer is invited to experience the many facets of fiber art in both two or three dimensional. In 2021 the Center of the Arts is giving special consideration to environmental issues encompassed in many pieces. Over 3,000 visitors from the Bay Area and around the US will come celebrate the 10th anniversary of fiber arts exhibition held every two years at Sebastopol Center for the Arts’ (SCA) award winning gallery.

Jurors are:

Carole Beadle Professor Emeritus Textiles at California College of Arts and practicing studio artist, is currently teaching Fiber Sculpture for College of Marin.

Tom Grotta the co-curator of browngrotta arts, which focuses on international contemporary art textiles and fiber sculpture, since 1987.

Melissa Leventon was formerly Curator-in-Charge of Textiles at Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, she is now principal of Curatrix Group Museum Consultants and Appraisers, consulting with US museums.
