Anna Maria Scocozza is a Roman artist graduated in Fashion and Costume, she attended the Academy of Fine Arts and many specialization courses in painting and decoration.
Her art is above all experimentation, it is a “spiritual practice, an alchemical research in which I transform matter into pure spirit in continuous evolution that becomes living power”.
In recent years her artistic research has focused on the creation of Libri d’artista(Artist Books) and on the creation of her “Guardarobapoetico” works (Poetic Wardrobe). It is an aesthetic and ethical research, which tries to push the viewer to question himself not only on social issues that affect mainly women victims of violence, but also about injustices and marginalization.
The artist creates her poetic garments using old recycled books that she deconstructs and reconstructs by creating a paper cloth that becomes a metaphor; the garments are transformed into symbols, visions of the soul, human archetypes that, quote: “accompany us on our difficult earthly and spiritual journey. Tears like scars, which become loopholes from where the light illuminates and preserves preparing us for new blossoms”.
Eu adoro a ambivalênciapoética de umacicatriz,
que sempre passa duasmensagens:
Aquidoeu.
Aquisarou.
(Louise Madeira, original languagetext)
I love the poetic ambivalence of a scar,
that always sends two messages:
Here it hurt.
Here it healed.
(Louise Madeira)
Anna Maria has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad and her works can be found at Foundations and private collections.
