Ottovolante Sulcis A.P.S., recipient of funding from the Fondazione di Sardegna for the project TEXTILE ART – TEXTILE ART AND TERRITORY, announces a call for proposals for the selection of six artists, two of whom are Sardinian by origin or residence, for the realization of two artistic residencies.
The association reserves the right to modify or cancel the 2023 program for serious reasons, if any, upon timely notice.
ORGANIZATION AND DURATION
The residency will take place on the island of Sant’Antioco, where the lagoon town of the same name is located.
The artists will be hosted in the Ottovolante Home Gallery.
The residencies, both lasting two weeks, will take place from June 19 to July 2, 2023 and from September 18 to October 1, 2023.
Selected artists will be provided with: reimbursement of travel expenses; lodging (with kitchen, bathroom, work space, wi-fi); food; training activities; coverage (total or partial) for materials and/or co-production of the work (each project will be evaluated individually by the organization); and a hard copy of the catalog.
The costs for the realization of the final exhibition are borne by the organization; the works will be set up in a place to be defined, different from the Ottovolante Home Gallery, in the territory of the Municipality of Sant’Antioco. For any works outside, the location will be agreed with the organizers.
Health expenses, medical insurance and any extras are the responsibility of the participant.
Artists will be taken on a discovery tour of the island of Sant’Antioco during the first days of the residency.
The organizers remain available for any requests from the artists themselves for other visits to the area related to the themes to be developed in relation to the work.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The open call is open to individual artists and artists or collectives; age of majority required.
All realized projects must be the result of the lived experience of the residency. The theme, medium and technique of making the works are at the artists’ discretion.
