WUNDERKAMMER AT VILLA GIULIA: THE SIXTH EDITION OF LE STANZE DELLE MERAVIGLIE ON LAKE MAGGIORE KICKS OFF

Back in the exhibition spaces of Villa Giulia in Pallanza (Verbania), “Wunderkammer. Le stanze delle meraviglie”, the event dedicated to contemporary art, now in its sixth edition, is back in the Villa Giulia exhibition spaces in Pallanza (Verbania). It involves national and international artists who express themselves through a plurality of languages, techniques and materials.

Divided into two sessions – the first opening on 5 July at 5 p.m. and the second opening on 19 July at 5 p.m. – the event also becomes the setting and container for a calendar of side events ranging from book presentations to workshops and conferences. Sponsored by the Municipality of Verbania, promoted by Siviera and curated by Marisa Cortese, the exhibition – or rather, the exhibitions – present the work of over sixty artists from different geographical areas and backgrounds and offer a broad overview of the visual arts from photography to sculpture, painting and fibre art.

Textiles are the medium of several of the works on display, some by artists for whom textiles is the language of choice, while others are the product of research and experimentation that has led to techniques and materials related to fibres and textiles. Throughout the entire month of the exhibition, in the rooms of Villa Giulia visitors will find artworks by Romilda Boccia, Daniela Cassani, Verena Giavelli, Fabio Giusti, Maria Elisa Leboroni, Maria Grazia Medda, Maria Cristina Tebaldi and Marilena Terzuolo, Patrizia Valcarenghi – in the first session – and Marcella Belletti, Luciana Bellotti, Maria Anastasia Colombo, Marina Comerio, Elisabetta Cusato Eliscus, Daniela Evangelisti, Patrizia Benedetta Fratus, Silvia Giani, Daniela Gioda, Nadia Mazzei, Maria Pia Michielon, Susanne Mueller-Baji, Raffaella Simone – in the second session.

The exhibitions will open at Villa Giulia, Corso Zanitello 8, Verbania Pallanza, on Wednesday 5 July 2023, 5 pm (for the first session open from 5 to 16 July) and Wednesday 19 July 2023, 5 pm (second session from 19 to 30 July) and can be visited free of charge from Wednesday to Sunday from 4 to 7.30 pm, Friday and Saturday also from 9 to 10.30 pm.
