From the Centre Pompidou in Paris to the Imago Mundi Foundation in Treviso, the performance by the two Iranian artists conceived to affirm their solidarity with the Iranian uprising that began after the death of the young Kurdish woman Mahsa Amini, accompanied by an exhibition.

Piazza Duomo 20, 31100, Treviso is the address where you can send a lock of your hair, tightly tied with rubber bands and closed in an envelope.

To contribute to the realization of the protest performance made by two Iranian artists Niyaz Azadikhah and Alireza Shojaian which will take place on 25, 26 and 27 November in Treviso, at Ca’ Scarpa in via Canova 11.

EXHIBITION
First hosted by the Centre Pompidou in Paris on October 9, the participatory performance is titled “Stitches on the Body of Freedom”. The two Iranian artists in Treviso will create a new drape bearing the slogan “woman, life, freedom”, sewing the hair donated by visitors at Ca’ Scarpa and by anyone who wants to participate in the solidarity project by sending their locks from allEurope.

At Gallerie delle Prigioni the drape made during the performance in Paris will be exhibited until Sunday 11 December together with three works in fabric by the artist Niyaz Azadikhah, made with a sewing technique that follows the effect of drawing.

Fondazione Imago Mundi has always been devoted to current events and the most crucial issues all over the world and, with these artistic initiatives, wants to contribute in amplifying the voice of Iranian people and in particular of Iranian women who act to claim fundamental human rights, risking their own lives.
