World of Threads Festival – CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre in Oakville, Ontario, Canada

Festival begins: Tuesday, October 10, 2023
Opening reception: Saturday, October 14, 2023
Last day: Sunday, December 17, 2023

Artists from around the world are invited to submit series of works, installations or individual pieces to the Festival. Curators will draw from the pool of submitted works to create several thematic group exhibitions, as well as dozens of solo shows and installations.

Submissions of artworks from all countries made between January 2019 and April 2023 are now open.

“The World of Threads Festival is a premier international showcase for contemporary textile and fiber art. We are a nonprofit initiative with charitable status, run by a few dedicated volunteers. We believe that some of the most interesting and significant artwork currently being made is in the field of fiber art. Through our initiatives we have discovered some remarkable artists and brought them to the attention of Canadian and international audiences.”
