CONTEXTILE invita tutti gli artisti (nazionali e internazionali) a presentare opere d’arte al concorso per l’Esposizione Internazionale, come parte del programma della sua 7ª edizione, Contextile 2024 – Contemporary Textile Art Biennial, che si terrà nella città di Guimarães, in Portogallo, dal 7 settembre al 15 dicembre 2024.

Nel 2024, la Biennale Contextile concentra le sue attività sul concetto tematico To TOUCH (Toccare), trasversale a tutte le voci del suo contenuto programmatico (cliccare sul link per consultare il concetto tematico nel testo di presentazione della Biennale).

L’esposizione internazionale sarà composta da 50 opere di 50 artisti, 45 delle quali saranno selezionate per l’esposizione indoor e 5 per l’esposizione outdoor (spazio pubblico).

Le opere artistiche saranno selezionate da una giuria internazionale, composta da Lala de Dios (storica dell’arte, curatrice e docente di tessile), Janis Jefferies (professore emerito di arti visive e curatore), Magda Soboń (artista tessile e docente di arti visive), Cindy Steiler (artista visiva), Cláudia Melo (direttore artistico di Contextile 2024).

La giuria assegnerà inoltre un Premio di Acquisizione di 7.000,00 euro (settemila euro) e due Menzioni d’Onore con assegnazione di premi (si veda il processo di selezione nel Regolamento), al momento dell’apertura della biennale.

Le 50 opere della mostra internazionale potranno inoltre essere selezionate, durante la biennale, per il premio di acquisizione ATP – Associação Têxtil e Vestuário de Portugal, dell’importo di 2.500,00 euro.

Gli artisti interessati possono candidarsi con nuove creazioni o opere recenti, fino all’8 marzo 2024, saranno accettate tutte le espressioni artistiche nelle discipline delle arti visive. Le proposte e le opere presentate per il concorso dovranno riguardare l’elemento tessile, attraverso il suo concetto, il tema, le tecniche o i materiali.

Le opere dovranno essere altamente creative, originali, tecnicamente competenti e in relazione con il tema e il concetto di questa 7a edizione.

La domanda di partecipazione sarà considerata definitiva e convalidata solo dopo il pagamento della quota di iscrizione: € 10,00 / $ 11,00 USA.

Contextile 2024 – OPEN CALL INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION

CONTEXTILE invites all artists (national and international) to present artworks to the competition for the International Exhibition, as part of the programme of its 7th Edition, Contextile 2024 – Contemporary Textile Art Biennial, to be held in the city of Guimarães, Portugal, from the 7th September to the 15th December 2024.

In 2024, the Contextile biennial focuses its activities on the thematic concept To TOUCH, transversal to all the rubrics of its programmatic contents (click the link to consult the thematic concept in the Biennial’s presentation text).

The International Exhibition will be composed by 50 artworks from 50 artists, 45 of these works will be selected for exhibition indoors and 5 works for outdoors (public space).

The artistic works will be selected by an international jury, composed by Lala de Dios (art historian, curator and teacher of textile), Janis Jefferies (Emeritus professor of visual arts and curator), Magda Soboń (textile artist and visual arts teacher), Cindy Steiler (visual artist), Cláudia Melo (artistic director of Contextile 2024).

The jury will also award an Acquisition Prize of €7.000,00 (seven thousand Euros) and two Honourable Mentions with prizes award (see selection process of the Regulations), at the moment of the biennial’s opening.

The 50 works of the international exhibition may also be selected, during the biennial, for the ATP – Associação Têxtil e Vestuário de Portugal Acquisition prize , in the amount of €2.500,00 euros.

The interested artists may apply with new creations or recent artworks, until the 8th March 2024, being accepted all artistic expressions in the visual arts disciplines. The proposals and artworks submitted for the competition will have to be around the textile element, through its concept, theme, techniques or materials.

The artworks will have to be highly creative, original, technically competent and relate to the theme and concept of this 7th edition.

The application will only be considered finalized and validated after payment of the registration fee: €. 10.00 (euros) / $11,00 USD.
