In the 1960s, with the project  Fun Palace, the architect Cedric Price and the theatre director Joan Littlewood aimed to create a street University, a fun laboratory. Today, OHT [Office for a Human Theatre], the research studio of theatre-maker and curator of Filippo Andreatta, with Little Fun Palace – a small caravan, an ephemeral place of gathering – celebrates that iconic project by organizing meetings, dialogues, dances and every form of spontaneity.

From 25 June to 3 July 2022, Little Fun Palace hosts the Nomadic School by OHT, a project that experiments possibilities of learning and sharing-knowledge around Performing Arts. Through workshops, experiments, walks, meetings and micro-performances, participants are encouraged to reconsider their centrality and periphery within a shared space such as the stage.

This edition of the Nomadic School is held at Torri del Vajolet, Gruppo del Catinaccio – Dolomites, at 2.300m above sea level. 12 participants – hosted at Rifugio Vajolet  and to which food and accommodation is granted for the full period – will be completely immersed in the Alpine landscape where life and study will become one.

To participate  it is necessary to submit an application to the OPEN CALL addressed to anyone interested in the production and perception of space and in the study of landscape. The participants should be from disciplines such as theatre, dance, architecture, geography, anthropology, philosophy, natural sciences, literature, music and visual arts and design. The  knowledge of English is required.

The Nomadic School – which will also welcome the general public on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July – sees the participation of some mentors who, respecting their practices, tackles the role of space and how it produces reality. For this edition the mentors are Enrico Malatesta (percussionist and sound-researcher), Chiara Pagano (artist and former Nomadica), Christian Casarotto (glaciologist, MUSE collaborator), Industria Indipendente (collective of performing and visual arts), Gabriella Mastrangelo (spatial designer and former Nomadica), Annibale Salsa (anthropologist), Stefania Tansini (dancer and choreographer), Daniel Blanga Gubbay (curator and researcher), RugilÄ— BarzdžiukaitÄ— (film-maker and theater director), Davide Tomat (musician and sound designer).
