Many fiber artists are featured in the PERMANENZA | ogni cosa è impermanente (PERMANENCE-everything is impermanent) exhibition set up at iKonica Gallery in Milan from Nov. 3 to 4, 2023, curated by Erika Lacava.

The exhibition brings together the reflections of 24 artists around the theme of impermanence, touching on both universal and existential themes, such as the inevitable memento mori, and highly topical issues such as the climate emergency, psychological and emotional fragility, and social relations, moving on the shaky boundary between the two states of being and showing their constant change.

Many mediums are present in the exhibition, including painting, sculpture, photography, and video. For fiber, Jorgelina Alessandrelli‘s imposing installation underscores with its bulk the urgency of measures against melting glaciers, while Michela Cavagna‘s tentacle-like strands of yarns emerge from drawers in an extreme attempt at hypercontrol and suppression of the unexpected.
