Camilla Marinoni’s exhibition La vertigine della forma, the installation of the workshop Tracce di liberty and the multimedia performance event LY, at the conclusion of the workshops of the degree course in Disciplines of Arts, Media and Performing Arts, from May 30 to June 11 at MO.CA (Brescia, via Moretto 78).
The Università Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore – DAMS of Brescia presents the solo exhibition of artist Camilla Marinoni, La vertigine della forma, hosted at MO.CA Centro per le nuove culture di Brescia, in the Appartamento Nobile, and curated by the students of the workshop L’evento d’arte – Benedetta Russo, Chiara Adelaide Mattiuzzo, Chiara Mora, Monica Bignotti, Nicole Rizzi, Rebecca Boroni, Sabrina Galli, Sara Colombini and Sofia Mazzola – coordinated by Daniele Perra.
The exhibition brings together a selection of the artist’s works, in which emptiness, wounds and healing are frequent themes and are meant to be a stimulus and starting point for a reflection on the meaning of our existence. “At the center of my work,” says the artist, “is an intimate and personal narrative referring to the social and spiritual aspects of daily living and which one inevitably experiences. Everything is filtered and reworked through my gaze and the use of my body.”
Artist biography
Camilla Marinoni (1979) is a visual artist who lives and works in Bergamo.
In 2003 she graduated in Sculpture from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, and in 2007 she obtained a specialist diploma in contemporary sacred art at the same academy. In 2007 he participated in the Course of Excellence in Sculpture, Jewelry and Design at the TAM Center in Pietrarubbia, Marche, Italy, chaired by Arnaldo Pomodoro and under the artistic direction of Nunzio di Stefano. Here, through his confrontation with Nunzio, he began to focus on the body as an expressive medium with which to make sculptures and installations dialogue. In 2018 he delves into the subject of performance and body art by participating in the workshop Teoría y practica del Performance Art at FactoriaLab in Madrid with artist Abel Azcona and in 2019 in the workshop Free unicorn at GAMeC in Bergamo with artist/actress Chiara Bersani. She is a finalist for the Paul VI Prize (2023) and the Exibart prize (2020 and 2021); she is a recommended artist for the Combat Prize (2022) and receives three prizes at the Arteam Cup (2019, 2020 and 2021). Her permanent works can be found at the Mercedes Benz collection (Milan), the Bernareggi Museum (Bergamo), the Montali Museum (Alba), the Gianetti Museum (Saronno), and some churches in the province of Bergamo and Cuneo.
