Fashion, cinema and archives, an unusual encounter
The exhibition SETA. Places and Archives of Silk Art, set up in Biella in the exhibition hall of Lanificio Maurizio Sella, is enriched with the ready-to-wear version of Vivienne Westwood’s iconic Cloud dress made in Italy by Studio Cataldi of Prato. The world’s most famous wedding dress was featured in the Wake up, Cave Girl! fashion show for fall/winter 2007-2008 and worn by Carrie Bradshaw – played by Sarah Jessica Parker – in the 2008 film Sex and the City, on the day she does NOT marry Mr. Big.
The dress was such a success that the designer, in collaboration with Net-a-Porter redesigned it shorter and the new version sold out immediately. Thanks to a loan from Studio Cataldi, which keeps it in its archives, the dress is now on display.
