Premio CRAMUM: il bando

Ultimissimi giorni: Il bando per la X edizione del Premio Cramum scade il 30 giugno 2023.

Il tema che gli artisti saranno chiamati ad interpretare è “EROI?”: una riflessione sul significato di essere eroi, ovvero sull’evoluzione della rappresentazione dell’essere umano nella società contemporanea. Al vincitore un budget di 2500 euro per realizzare una propria mostra personale al Mercato Centrale Milano.

Il concorso è aperto a tutti gli artisti under 40 (ovvero nati a partire dal 1° gennaio 1984 compreso). È consentita la partecipazione di duo artistici qualora i membri rispettino il precedente requisito anagrafico. Sono permessi tutti i linguaggi espressivi. Le opere nel rispetto della sede espositiva non potranno superare, se bidimensionali, cm 200×200 e, se tridimensionali, un ingombro superiore a due metri cubi; eventuali performance saranno realizzate in uno spazio al chiuso.

Le opere dei finalisti selezionati (nel numero da 8 a 12) saranno esposte a partire dal mese di gennaio 2024 presso la Reti SpA a Busto Arsizio. La Mostra Collettiva “Eroi?”, in cui i finalisti esporranno le proprie opere, sarà corredata da una pubblicazione.
Anche per la 10a edizione, data l’elevata qualità delle candidature degli scorsi anni, cramum pubblicherà in una particolare sezione del volume “In evidenza” fino a 10 opere di artisti che si sono distinti, sebbene non siano tra i finalisti.

PREMI

Tra i finalisti, il giorno dell’inaugurazione, sarà nominato il vincitore al quale verrà consegnato il premio Cramum: un cubo di marmo offerto dall’Associazione Marmisti Regione Lombardia. Il vincitore avrà la possibilità anche di realizzare una mostra site-specific al Mercato Centrale Milano tra giugno e agosto 2024, per farlo avrà un budget di 2500 euro, destinato, in accordo con la Direzione del Premio, alla copertura dei costi per la stampa di una pubblicazione ed eventualmente per quelli derivanti dall’allestimento-logistica.

Alla fine della mostra verrà anche attribuito il Premio Speciale RETI for Art, con cui Bruno e Ilenia Paneghini acquisiranno un’opera di uno dei finalisti per un importo massimo di 2500 euro per la loro collezione ospitata dalla Reti SpA. La selezione avverrà in base all’insindacabile giudizio di chi vive e lavora negli spazi.
La Direzione del Premio e la Giuria si riservano di attribuire eventuali ulteriori menzioni o premi speciali, qualora individui opere particolarmente significative sul piano qualitativo e della ricerca.

La candidatura avverrà esclusivamente tramite e-mail entro il 30 giugno 2023 (ore 23:59) all’indirizzo infocramum@gmail.com. Ogni artista potrà candidare al massimo tre opere. Il Premio Cramum è un progetto senza scopi di lucro. Per la copertura dei costi gestionali e organizzativi dell’evento, si richiede quindi un contributo di 30 euro per un’opera candidata; 50 euro per due opere candidate, 60 euro per 3 opere candidate.

The call for entries for the 10th edition of the Cramum Prize expires on 30 June 2023!

The theme that artists will be asked to interpret is “HEROES?“: a reflection on the meaning of being a hero, or rather on the evolution of the representation of the human being in contemporary society. The winner will receive a budget of €2,500 to hold a personal exhibition at the Mercato Centrale Milano.

The competition is open to all artists under 40 (i.e. born on or after 1 January 1984 inclusive). Artistic duos are allowed to participate if the members meet the above age requirement. All expressive languages are permitted. The works in respect of the exhibition venue may not exceed, if two-dimensional, 200×200 cm and, if three-dimensional, an overall size of more than two cubic metres; any performances shall be realised in an indoor space.

The works of the selected finalists (8 to 12 in number) will be exhibited from January 2024 at Reti SpA in Busto Arsizio. The Collective Exhibition “Heroes?”, in which the finalists will exhibit their works, will be accompanied by a publication.
Also for the 10th edition, given the high quality of the entries in previous years, cramum will publish up to 10 works by artists who have distinguished themselves, although not among the finalists, in a special section of the volume “Highlights”.

AWARDS

Among the finalists, on the day of the opening, a winner will be named and presented with the Cramum prize: a marble cube offered by the Associazione Marmisti Regione Lombardia. The winner will also have the opportunity to realise a site-specific exhibition at the Mercato Centrale Milan between June and August 2024. To do so, they will have a budget of €2,500, destined, in agreement with the Award Management, to cover the costs of printing a publication and possibly those deriving from the set-up-logistics.

At the end of the exhibition the RETI for Art Special Prize will also be awarded, with which Bruno and Ilenia Paneghini will acquire a work by one of the finalists for a maximum amount of 2500 euros for their collection hosted by Reti SpA. The selection will be based on the unquestionable judgement of those who live and work in the spaces.
The Award Management and the Jury reserve the right to award further mentions or special prizes if they identify particularly significant works in terms of quality and research.

Entries must be submitted exclusively by e-mail by 30 June 2023 (23:59) to infocramum@gmail.com. Each artist may submit a maximum of three works. The Cramum Prize is a non-profit project. In order to cover the management and organisational costs of the event, a contribution of 30 euros is requested for one candidate work; 50 euros for two candidate works, 60 euros for three candidate works.
