PROGETTO GENERATIVO DEL MUSEO D’ARTE DI XI
Lo Xi-Art Museum Generative Project è una componente importante e fondamentale dello sviluppo dello Xi-Art Museum. Diverso dal normale modello operativo dei musei d’arte, il Progetto Generativo si concentra maggiormente sulle pratiche artistiche aperte, in crescita e partecipative e sui processi di ricerca sul campo. Attraverso scambi e collaborazioni a lungo termine con artisti nazionali e internazionali, il Progetto Generativo radica le creazioni artistiche in campi e contesti naturali specifici, dove le opere creative saranno conservate ed esposte in modo permanente.
Lo Xi-Art Museum Generative Project è ospitato da Lucitopia Town-Zixi Qingliang Mountain e curato da C-PLATFORM. Il progetto annuncerà i suoi temi annuali, inviterà gli artisti nazionali e internazionali attraverso le candidature di singoli e gruppi, o le proposte raccomandate dai referenti, e la realizzazione della proposta selezionata, contribuirà alla crescita organica dello Xi-Art Museum.

TEMA ANNUALE: Vita microscopica
Non tutte le forme di vita sono visibili a occhio nudo.
Batteri, funghi e virus vivono dentro e sopra di noi, influenzando tutta la vita sulla terra. I microbi non solo determinano le nostre capacità metaboliche e la salute umana, ma sono anche alla base di molti processi che ci forniscono cibo, medicine e materiali. Utilizziamo i lieviti per la cottura e la produzione di birra, i batteri consentono i processi di fermentazione e artisti, architetti e designer hanno sperimentato il micelio come biomateriale sostenibile in ambito creativo. Il modo in cui l’intelligenza naturale genera collaborazione e connessione è forse ancora più sorprendente.
Il microscopio e altre tecnologie ci permettono di familiarizzare con la vita nascosta dei microbi, innescando una nuova dimensione nella nostra immaginazione e nuovi modi di vedere e comprendere il mondo che ci circonda.

REQUISITI DEI CANDIDATI
Nel campo della pratica artistica contemporanea e della ricerca naturale
Aperto a diversi tipi di medium
Artisti, curatori, designer e altri creativi e scienziati in Cina e all’estero.
Numero di progetti selezionati: 10-20 pezzi/set

SUPPORTO AL PROGETTO
Biglietti aerei internazionali/nazionali di andata e ritorno e sovvenzioni per i trasporti [non più di 5.000 RMB per persona/gruppo], alloggio in strutture convenzionate, spazio studio condiviso e vitto [tre pasti al giorno];
Le opere selezionate saranno sostenute dal Project Material Grant [l’importo del finanziamento dipende dalle proposte specifiche];
Supporto professionale da parte di assistenti al progetto durante il processo di residenza;
opportunità di partecipare a varie attività di scambio;
Incoraggiamo e assistiamo i candidati a richiedere fondi per scambi culturali internazionali per sponsorizzare le loro proposte.

Invito a presentare proposte: 1 agosto 2021 – 31 luglio 2022
Esame delle proposte: fino a 15 giorni lavorativi dalla data di ricezione del materiale di candidatura.
Attuazione delle proposte selezionate: dipende dalle proposte specifiche.

XI·ART MUSEUM GENERATIVE PROJECT

The Xi·Art Museum Generative Project is an important and fundamental component of the development of the Xi·Art Museum. Different from the regular operating model of art museums, the Generative Project focuses more on open, growing, and participatory art practices and field research processes. Through long-term exchanges and cooperation with domestic and international artists, the Generative Project roots artistic creations in specific natural fields and contexts, where the creative works will be permanently preserved and displayed.

Xi·Art Museum Generative Project is hosted by Lucitopia Town·Zixi Qingliang Mountain and Curated by C-PLATFORM. The Project will announce its annual topics, open call the domestic and international artists through applications by individuals and groups, or proposal recommended by the referrers, and the realization of the selected proposal, contribute to the organic growth of the Xi·Art Museum.

ANNUAL TOPIC: Microscopic Life

Not all life forms are visible to the naked eye.

Bacteria, fungi and viruses live inside and on us, influencing all life on earth. Not only do microbes determine our metabolic capabilities and human health, but they are also at the basis of many processes that provide us with food, medicine and materials. We use yeasts for cooking and brewing, bacteria allow for fermentation processes and artists, architects and designers have experimented with the mycelium as a sustainable biomaterial in the creative field. The way in which natural intelligence generates collaboration and connection is possibly even more astonishing.

The microscope and other technologies allows us to get familiar with the hidden life of microbes, triggering a new dimension in our imagination and new ways of seeing and understanding the world that surrounds us.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

In the field of contemporary art practice and natural research

Open to different type of medium

Artists, curators, designers and other creative practitioners and scientists in China and abroad

Number of Selected Projects: 10-20 pieces/sets

PROJECT SUPPORTS

International/domestic round-trip flight tickets and transportation subsidy [no more than RMB 5,000 per person/group], lodging at appointed accommodations, shared studio space, and food [three meals per day];
Selected works will be supported by the Project Material Grant [the amount of funding depends on the specific proposals];
Professional support from project assistants during the residency process;
Opportunities to participate in various exchange activities;
We encourage and assist applicants to apply for international cultural exchange funds to sponsor their proposals.
