In esposizione al Musée des Arts Décoratifs fino al 28 aprile 2024, la mostra “Iris van Herpen. Sculpting the Senses” rende omaggio a una delle stiliste più visionarie della sua generazione. Pioniera nell’uso delle nuove tecnologie nella sua disciplina, Iris van Herpen ha trasgredito le norme convenzionali dell’abbigliamento, aprendosi a un know-how sia tradizionale che orientato al futuro.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Spaziando dal micro al macro, la mostra esplora il collocamento del corpo nello spazio, il suo rapporto con l’abbigliamento e l’ambiente e il suo futuro in un mondo in rapida evoluzione. Una selezione di oltre 100 capi di alta moda di Iris van Herpen è esposta insieme a opere d’arte contemporanea di Philip Beesley, Collectif Mé, Wim Delvoye, Rogan Brown, Kate MccGwire, Damien Jalet e Kohei Nawa, Casey Curran e Jacques Rougerie, oltre a creazioni di design di Neri Oxman, Ren Ri, Ferruccio Laviani e Tomáš Libertíny, e pezzi provenienti dalle scienze naturali come coralli e fossili che creano una risonanza unica con i pezzi storici. La mostra è presentata nelle sale Christine & Stephen A. Schwarzman.

On show at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs until April 28, 2024, the exhibition “Iris van Herpen. Sculpting the Senses” pays tribute to one of the most visionary designers of her generation. A pioneer in the use of new technologies in her discipline, Iris van Herpen transgressed conventional clothing norms, opening up to both traditional and future-oriented know-how.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Ranging from the micro to the macro, the exhibition explores the placement of the body in space, its relationship to clothing and the environment, and its future in a rapidly changing world. A selection of more than 100 haute couture garments by Iris van Herpen is displayed alongside contemporary artworks by Philip Beesley, Collectif Mé, Wim Delvoye, Rogan Brown, Kate MccGwire, Damien Jalet and Kohei Nawa, Casey Curran and Jacques Rougerie, as well as design creations by Neri Oxman, Ren Ri, Ferruccio Laviani and Tomáš Libertíny, and pieces from the natural sciences such as corals and fossils that create a unique resonance with the historical pieces. The exhibition is presented in the Christine & Stephen A. Schwarzman Rooms.
